Erik the Red is inspired by Franconian-style Rotbier (red lager) common in Nuremberg, Germany but with a twist. Instead of using a traditional German lager yeast, we fermented Erik the Red with a Norwegian Kveik strain that ferments cleanly even up to 90F (32C). Erik the Red was made with German pils and Vienna malts as a base along with German Cara-Red. Cara-Bohemian, and Cara-Aroma crystal malts.
