Snickity snickity...
It was in pre-Reinheitsgebot Germany that Dortmund's 'Adambier' developed. Little is known of this Medieval style as it's last brewers succumbed to more popular beer styles over 200 years ago. However, by understanding its origin, some of the ingredients and methods can be guessed at. Clandestine's interpretation of this resurrected beer forgoes the extended barrel aging of the original, producing a complex, malty beast of a beer. Brewed with Cherry wood smoked malt and Magnum hops, this is a rich, smoky ale balanced by a large bittering addition of high Alpha Acid hops.
