New Hop Alert! Norm is a single hop pale ale made with the recently released Vera hops which are an open source and IP free hops whose development was sponsored by the USDA Agricultural Research Service. Vera features a hop candy like flavor with hints of tropical fruit and a touch of citrus. While we think you can guess the origins of our beer name, Vera hops are named for Vera Katherine Charles, one of several female mycologists employed by the USDA in the early decades of the twentieth century, as a tribute to the significant contributions these women made to the long-term sustainability of the hop industry.
