Artist statement
The subject of the work is Coconut, my aunt’s dog, a shih tzu-poodle mix. He is known by locals for his insatiable hunger, round little face, and playfulness, Coconut lives a colorful life. I portrayed him as a knight in shining armor that fits his tiny little body so he can always play and protect his family without always hurting his tiny short legs.
